212 Market Restaurant opened its doors February 5th, 1992 . Developed from the ground up by the Moses family with mother, Maggie, and daughters, Susan and Sally, as the full time planners. 212 opened before the Tennessee Aquarium when downtown Chattanooga was still a "distressed" area and not frequented by locals. Sidewalks and streets were still to be constructed.

The Moses family's goal was to have a full service, quality restaurant including a bakery. Throughout their years in operation, this goal has been the prime objective and they have earned the city's only "3-Star" designation. 212 Market Restaurant offers upscale food with superb service to casual diners.  "Downtown before downtown was cool", they are regarded as a cornerstone of downtown Chattanooga's development and re-vitalization.
